Jeff and Amiee,
If you think Longbranch was good...you really need to stop by the Village Hide-A-Way in Vicksburg. From the outside just seems like a local small town bar/saloon...but they have the best food in Vicksburg...and the best staff and drinks in Kalamazoo County!! The perch fish special is the best you'll get around!! It's such a wonderful group of people!! You should definetly check it out!! :)

Icehouse Old Burdick's just off 9th street was BAD on Saturday night 9/17. We got our order in...they came back and said they were "out of garlic mashed potatoes and we would have to have fries". Disappointed, but we looked around...NOT MANY THERE...so how do they run out?? We got our order first (we were with a large group), then broccolli was stone cold, fries were cold and steak was tough. We have 2 out of 4 steaks that were decent. They didn't offer to bring us anything else, but did get some of us hot fries. Others in our group said their fries were cold too.....don't suggest going there.

Nice to see you like Indian food. But however either they told you the wrong name or wrong recipes. Bhendi is hindi for Okra (Ladies Finger) and does not have any pumpkin in it. Sambar is not a soup. It is a south Indian dish which you would have to mix with rice and eat. And the chickpeas curry is called Channa Masala. I wonder why they told you its Kadai, which is a mix of all vegetables with the spices in a form of an almost solid curry. And panneer is Indian Tofu and the mustard green recipe has been there for centuries. I wonder why they lied to you about that.

Apart from that its a nice review.. I will definitely try it once based on the review you have given..

Thanks

I went in to get my tea at Chocolatea the other day, my once a week trip, and wanted a cup of coffee to go. I was skeptical after reading your blog that it would be cold. I asked for a small cup to go and the employee, a nice young lady, looked a the pot, the time it was made, and said, "I'm making you a new pot, it's going to take about 5 minutes if you would please wait." Happy with the thought of a fresh pot of coffee, I gladly accepted the offer of waiting and it was a really very nice cup of coffee for the ride home. Love Chocolatea.

Had been to the Longbranch off and on for over a year . And When we started going there the food was good. But as time has gone on the food has gone down hill.
We Loved the Mexican Night meals. But the last time we had it, it was very saltly and dry and the refried beans on the side were so dry and cold that the shredded cheese on top didn't even melt. The spanish rice had no flavor and there was way to much lettuce and diced tomatoes on the plate.
The couple that came with us this last time we were there. Had ordered the Rib Dinner. And the other on ordered the Longbranch burger.
They ordered Burger medium well and came to them well done. The Slice of Tomato and Onion on the burger was cut way to thick. The French fries were cold.
The Rib dinner. The ribs very tough to get off the bone to chew. the sweet potato chips were over cooked and dry. the side salad was very wet. and the cooked vegetables was swimming in water no flavor.
Not sure if we will be eating there again anytime soon.

Nice to hear they have loose teas. I like to sample things first and then come back and buy in larger amounts.

I smiled at your orange pekoe tea. I had a lot of that as a child as well. It brings back fond memories.
